University of Wisconsin-Madison A field study was done to explore the effect of viewing an entire emergency event vs. seeing only the end point on helping behavior. Rapid, impulsive helping occurred in the "entire scenario" condi tion, but almost no help was given when only the "aftermath" was seen.
