Commitments to Help Among the Disabled DisadvantagedCalifornia State College, San Bernardino
Wayne State University A naturalistic experiment on helping behavior was conducted in a vocational rehabilitation setting. The effects of anticipated satisfaction from helping, cost of helping, and client dependency on past rehabilitation clients' willingness to help current clients were determined. Subjects were willing to help more clients when the cost was low and the satisfaction associated with helping high. High client dependency was significantly associated with willingness to help more clients.
