Effects of Sex-of-Observer on Female Actors' Causal Attributions for Success and FailurePitzer College
Colorado State University Female actors succeeded or failed at a laboratory task in the presence of male observers, female observers, or in a control group by themselves. As predicted, actors attributed responsibility for both success and failure more dispositionally before male observers than female observers. All observers attributed responsibility more dispositionally than did actors themselves.
