Princeton University Research indicates that style of cue utilization is an important factor in self-attribution processes. The present report examined the effects of cue utilization style upon the use of self-produced emotional cues in an induced-compliance attitude change paradigm. It was found that only individuals who utilize internal cues were influenced by the emotion manipulation and showed subsequent differences in attitude change.
