Graduate Training and Prospects in Social Psychology

A survey of graduate departments of psychology indicates Ph.D. production far exceeds potential positions. Departments appear to be increasing the proportion of graduate training specifically oriented toward nonacademic placement. However prospective changes do not appear sufficient to serve the probable employment opportunities.
